A bank business plan should explain what the money funds and how the borrower expects to repay it. A polished description of the market cannot replace those answers. For an entrepreneur entering Spain, the plan also needs to clarify who borrows, where activity occurs and which existing obligations already use the business's cash. Keep the request specific enough for a lender to assess.
Describe customers, pricing, delivery capacity and the evidence behind demand. Link the proposed expenditure to the operating model: equipment, recruitment, stock or working capital. Distinguish confirmed orders from expressions of interest. A sales forecast based on contracts has a different evidential basis from an untested expansion assumption, and the lender should be able to see the difference without interpreting optimistic language.
Build profit and cash forecasts that reconcile with current accounts. Include tax payments, supplier timing, owner withdrawals where relevant and existing debt service. Spain's Central Credit Register, commonly called CIRBE, records reported credit exposures and guarantees; it is not simply a bad debt list. Review your own information alongside loan statements and investigate discrepancies before they complicate the financing discussion.
In a hypothetical case, a maintenance company requests finance for additional vehicles. Its presentation shows growing sales, but the cash forecast reveals that new customers pay later than its established clients. The request therefore includes working capital as well as vehicles, with a repayment pattern tested against collections. That explanation is more useful than a general statement that expansion will increase profits.
Prepare a concise executive explanation, ownership details, historical accounts, current trading figures, investment quotations and a debt schedule. Add permissions or contracts relevant to the project, together with assumptions and an adverse scenario. If considering ICO linked finance, consult the particular product conditions: the participating credit institution decides whether to grant the financing and can request documentation for its assessment.
Avoid treating grant applications as confirmed income, hiding guarantees or building repayment solely from the most optimistic month. The plan should remain useful even if the bank offers a different amount or structure. Official CIRBE and ICO information help define financing context; they do not guarantee acceptance.
